***This is Mrs. Ready with a few words of wisdom:
It's that long-awaited day-the last day of school! Some of you have made
big plans for the summer-special vacations, trip to Grandma's house,
camps. Some o f you may be in summer school. Some of you may have
summer jobs. Some of you are planning to hang out with your friends and
stick close to home. For most of you, summer vacation means lots of
sleep, play, and exercise. But don't forget to exercise those brains a little.
We want you to remember how to use them.
Whatever you have planned for the summer; remember these words of
Joseph Addison:
Reading Is to the mind what exercise is to the body.
Remember this: Reading can be recreational, too. This summer get into a
good book. You may be surprised at how enjoyable reading for fun can be.
Think about asking your teachers and librarians for reading suggestions.
However you choose to spend your summer vacation, make every choice
a wise one, and then make it a great summer. . . . or not, The choice is
yours.
