***Here are a few words of wisdom:
We live in a very noisy world. Something always seems to be making
noise: a TV, or a radio. or a washing machine, or a video game.
Sometimes we turn on these things to distract ourselves, to avoid silence
-or worse yet-boredom. Maybe we turn on the noise to avoid our own
thoughts and feelings. What do you think?
American psychologist and educator Sol Gordon says:
Sit down in a quiet place and get in touch with yourself.
That's good advice, Knowing your thoughts, your feelings, your dreams,
and goals is an important part of creating a happy life.
Greek philosopher Plutarch (PLOO tahrk) said it very simply. He said:
Know thyself.
Today, make a promise to yourself. Find ten minutes, turn off the noise,
and sit. Be Quiet. You might discover thoughts and feelings you didn't know
you had.
With something to think about, Make it a great day . . . . or not. The choice is yours.
