This week has been proclaimed as Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin. Wisconsin averages 23 tornadoes a year. The National Weather Service has confirmed 21 tornadoes touched down in the state of Wisconsin during 2023.
Today, Thursday, April 11, 2024, a statewide tornado drill is planned. The National Weather Service will issue a mock tornado watch meaning "conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in our area." A tornado watch alerts us to the possibility of a tornado. The tornado watch will be issued at 1:00 p.m.
At 1:45 pm, there will be a mock tornado warning issued meaning “a tornado is imminent or has been sighted." When a tornado warning is issued, we are to go immediately to our pre-designated areas and remain there until notified by an announcement to return to class.
If there is bad weather on Thursday, the tornado drill will be conducted on Friday, April 12.

***Here are a few words of wisdom:
Have you ever had a craving for something that just wouldn't go away . . . .
like a craving for chocolate or a craving for pizza? We all get cravings from
time to time, and that's OK. What's not okay is when we constantly crave
things we don't have . . . . when we spend too much time craving more
clothes or craving new shoes or craving a bigger house or a nicer car.
Listen to these words written almost two thousand years ago by a Roman
philosopher by the name of Seneca:
It is not the man who has too little,
but the man who craves more, that is poor.
Sounds just like that Japanese proverb we've heard before:
He who knows not when he has enough is poor.
Today, focus on what you have instead of what you don't have. You may
be surprised to discover that you have enough.
***With something to think about, Make it a great day . Or not …..
The choice is yours.
